Hello all,

My name is Nick Hura and I am the Turning Technologies Intern for this campus. You can reach me at hurana@miamioh.edu with any questions about Turning Technologies software or devices and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

For those of you who are new, this site is designed to provide you with any help you may need with TurningPoint Cloud for the coming semester. If you are enrolled and would like to be removed please notify me, and I will remove you from the site.

As you may have heard, we are switching to the newest version of TurningPoint software, TurningPoint Coud, for the fall. With this being said you may want to start familiarizing yourselves with it. We have set up some Miami-specific training sessions with Turning Technologies via WebEx in the coming weeks. You can register for them in Miami University’s TRAIN system (click on the text for help registering).

The Topic to browse for is ‘TurningPoint Training’ and the workshop names are:

  • ‘ TurningPoint: Transitioning to the Cloud ’ (for experienced TurningPoint users)
  • ‘ TurningPoint: PowerPoint Polling (New Users) ’ (for those new to polling with TurningPoint)

As the student registration process has changed and all students will now require a Turning Account License (much like an Access Code for Connect), they will more than likely need to purchase a license. The only students that may already have a license are those who have used ResponseWare in the past. Because of this change to student registration, Turning Technologies have provided us with two rebates. They are only available for the 2016-2017 school year so make sure students redeem them quickly. Rebate 1: $37 off of a 4-Year License with code Rmu37. This is a FREE Turning Account License for 4 years. They can purchase the license within Turning Account by selecting Student Store on the left and going to the second section to purchase a stand-alone 4-Year License. This license also gives them access to the ResponseWare app. This is recommended for ALL students as it will make sure they are squared away for their entire college career. Note that this cannot be used when purchasing a bundle from the bookstore or Student Store. If they purchase a bundle, refer to Rebate 2 below. Rebate 2: $20.99 off of a QT2 Bundle & 4-Year License with code Rmiu20 Students can go to https://rebates.turningtechnologies.com/ to redeem these rebates with proof of purchase (physical receipt or order confirmation). I highly recommend purchasing the stand-alone 4-Year License or QT2 Bundle through the Student Store within Turning Account as they are usually about $20 cheaper than the bookstore. With the rebates above applied to the Student Store, a stand-alone 4-Year License is free, and a QT2 Bundle & 4-Year License is around $45. I am including fliers for both rebates along with a PowerPoint that walks students through the rebate process. You can access them by following the hyperlink here (Rebates) or going to the Rebates Module in this course. As always, don't be afraid to reach out to me (hurana@miamioh.edu) with any questions.
